Ninth edition winner

Matteo Nicolò Burani is co-founder of Studio Croma, an animation studio that has been active in the Bologna area for 9 years. Several artistic projects have been created in stop-motion animation such as short films, music videos, commercials and professional training courses. Stop-motion animation is rooted in reality, which is captured and modified in each one of its images through a camera to express movement and action. This technique starts from an inanimate object, which is placed in a set and comes to life thanks to the hands of a professional called 'animator': following the rules of traditional animation, the object is moved at each photo, thus giving an illusion of movement.

SPECIAL PROJECT 2020

This past year, in response to the pandemic, Studio Croma decided to move some of its activity online. ‘The Animation Wiki' is Studio Croma's first series of video tutorials that will allow people to learn about the magic of stop-motion animation step by step through a series of tutorials on different platforms. Over the course of 2021, several goals are expected to be reached so as to achieve an increase in work/social activity through a structured Social Management plan. The Animation Wiki will therefore be the common thread for all the other projects: in adapting to this health emergency, the intention is indeed to renew and reinvent the business itself in order to reach a wider audience, new clients and new producers around the world.
