SPECIAL PROJECTS 2020

Its ‘Impossible Encounters'; are a new remote learning proposal. What would it be like to meet Dante Alighieri, and listen to him reciting some verses from the Divine Comedy? And to be able to ask directly to Leonardo Da Vinci what he was thinking when he invented the flying machine? With its project, Atlantide wants to give children and young people from primary and secondary schools the chance to meet famous people from the past, great explorers, scientists, figures who played an important role in Italian history, but also some fictional characters being the protagonists of great works of international literature. This means providing not a mere insight, but a real journey through time, a live connection from the classroom with the discovery of America, the Middle Ages and prehistory. These are video meetings of around 45 minutes between a class and a great figure from history, art or literature, to discover his or her secrets and have the opportunity of interacting with him or her, asking questions live, through digital video call platforms such as Meet, Zoom or others used by schools. The ‘Impossible Encounters' project was conceived, designed and realised by museum education and remote learning experts together with professional actors playing the proposed characters.
