BAN Bologna, which is part of IBAN (Italian Business Angles Network), was created in 2001 by Città metropolitana di Bologna, Ascom, Aster, Confartigianato, Lega Coop Bologna and Unindustria. It is a
network of business angels that promotes economic development in the Emilia-Romagna region through the development of culture and risk capital tools, in particular for start-ups.
BAN Bologna’s objective is to promote meetings between entrepreneurs and informal private sponsors for the realisation of
new entrepreneurial ideas and the consequent creation of
new businesses. BAN Bologna has a current network of 56 entrepreneurial projects and has accredited 50 Business Angels.
ACTIVITIES:
In a territory such as Emilia-Romagna, rich with innovative entrepreneurial ideas, BAN Bologna aims to help those with good ideas but insufficient financial resources or managerial skills, as well as those who are willing to invest their capital and offer their technical and managerial support through mentoring.
BAN does not deal with capital directly, but it encourages the meeting of developing entrepreneurial ideas with informal sponsors through an articulated matching process. In particular, BAN assists the development of entrepreneurial projects and promotes the meeting of supply and demand of risk capital by selecting projects, identifying new Business Angels and putting them into contact with entrepreneurs.
