RatHaus is an artistic collective that gives priority to creative expression, equity and active participation. It aims, through events and cultural projects in its premises in Piacenza, to stimulate involvement and collaboration between all citizens.
ACTIVITIES
RatHaus is the natural evolution of Cedro, a cultural association that has for three years been experiencing a growth in its collaborations with a variegated group of creators. This expansion, together with the desire to offer greater opportunities to the residents of Piacenza, has resulted in its transfer to larger premises. RatHaus intends to offer a place of discovery, meeting and dialogue through experimentation and artistic experience, opening the doors to the expansion of the social groups. During its activities, a collective decisional process will be used to draw upon residents’ opinions and encourage their responsibilities as creative individuals, thinkers and leaders. This project exploits the city as an artistic laboratory by promoting collaborations between creative artists and residents.
The activities envisaged are:
- cultural events, that is to say theatrical and musical performances, cineforums, book presentations and storytelling;
- workshops in the visual and literary arts, a workspace for creative artists and professionals;
- exhibitions to celebrate local artists;
- bookshop and publishing;
- residences for artists.
