ASTER is the Emilia-Romagna consortium company for
innovation and technology transfer at the service of companies, universities and the territory.
Its members are the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Universities of the region, the CNR, ENEA, INFN national public bodies operating in the region, and the regional system of the Chambers of Commerce.
ASTER promotes
industrial research as the main engine of sustainable economic development, in line with growth and social welfare, and collaborates with business associations for the development of joint strategies between research and industry.
Since 2011, the core element in support of the creation of innovative business and of young talents is the EmiliaRomagnaStartUpportal designed and implemented by ASTER and by the Region: it is a comprehensive tool, unique in Italy, tailored to new entrepreneurs and start-ups.
ACTIVITIES
ASTER provides services for the creation of enterprises, from the development of the company's idea, to the development of enterprises that are already well established: orientation, entrepreneurial training, tutoring and mentoring, assistance with advice from the experts, networking services, internationalization and business development, and provision of funds based on the operation measures available.
The services offered by ASTER for new companies are also connected to specific, regional programmes - e.g. the Start Cup - business plan competition, in collaboration with the national competitive exam organized by PNI Cube - or European programmes - e.g. Climate-KIC Accelerator Italy - a European accelerator programme for start-ups of the "climate change" sector.
On May 30, 2016 the accelerator space Le Serre di ASTER was launched, at the Serre (Greenhouses) of the Giardini Margherita in Bologna, which hosts six regional innovative start-ups for semi-annual support paths and provides work spaces to accommodate start-ups from abroad or from other Italian regions.
