Associazione Andante – Going Up
Fifth edition winner
Andante is a theatrical coordination which currently has as partners five independent theatrical organisations from the Modena area: Amigdala, Artisti Drama, Instabile19, Teatro dei Venti and Cooperative Il Girasole.
Andante’s mission, on the one hand, is to create a united playbill in which every entity can develop its own poetry, exploiting the available spaces and becoming part of a thematic perspective and common content. On the other hand, it coordinates organisations and skills, bringing together independent theatres and dance studios active in the province of Modena, in Emilia Romagna and nationwide, to increase the economic and organisational synergies, pooling expertise and skills needed in the field of live performance.
ACTIVITIES
With the Going Up project, Andante acts as a small incubator for other small associations in the area, promoting the organisation of training courses and mentoring, the development of joint theatrical productions and other projects, and managing relationships with the artists in the area through “platforms” of exchange. As part of this activity, the association works on diversifying the shared theatrical playbill, respecting the internal balance among the various artistic identities and collecting and redistributing public and private resources to promote the overall growth of its participating organisations. To do this, the association shares costs and personnel, services and specific expertise (like promotion, communication, administration, etc.) and defines professional standards and ethical rules for work practices
