The Cultural Association Humus ETS was born in Bologna from the union of the creative forces of a group of local radio operators, who, driven by the desire to keep alive and promote a free and independent communication, founded NEU RADIO: a web radio operative since 1 April 2018 on www.neuradio.it.
SPECIAL PROJECT 2020
Anticorpi Culturali (Cultural Antibodies) is a radio project broadcast on the NEU RADIO web radio during the lockdown period. NEU RADIO has never stopped, continuing its daily broadcasts and taking the opportunity to turn on the microphones and give a voice to representatives of the cultural world and the third sector, who are struggling with the first reactions to the closure. This is how the Anticorpi Culturali series was born: a series of interviews which then evolved into the organisation of public round tables for discussion, in-depth analysis and dialogue between cultural and institutional operators, questioning the role of the cultural sector in the city of Bologna. Through interviews, local stakeholders representing the regional cultural world were involved, with the aim of talking about and analysing the main challenges they were facing and trying to imagine possible solutions that could help them overcome the crisis, designing shared paths of growth. The idea was then developed in five virtual round tables, organised in collaboration with Zero Bologna, which brought together all the actors involved: associations, institutions and operators in the sector, committed to reflecting on what solutions and what common actions to formulate in order to relaunch the cultural sector and revitalise social and urban spaces.
In the months that followed, NEU RADIO continued its commitment to constantly reporting on the reactions of the world of culture, arriving at the Museum of Modern Art in Bologna, MAMbo, with a new radio studio from which it broadcasts Breaking Bread on a weekly basis: a radio programme from the Nuovo Forno del Pane [New Bread Bakery]to open a window on what is new in the cultural and artistic sphere, starting from the city of Bologna and extending its gaze to new geographical boundaries.
