Founded in 2007, Les Mots Libres is a publishing services studio specialised in the educational sector. The leading scholastic publishers turn to the studio to produce language books- English, French, Spanish and Italian for foreigners- for all types and levels of instruction, with a special focus on inclusive teaching and special educational needs. Made up of a lively group of editors and graphic designers, the team launched the independent publication of illustrated books for infants and children in 2016. The catalogue’s central values are integration, personal growth, and respect for oneself and others.
ACTIVITIES
Le Mots Libres coordinates every activity involved in the production of a book: writing, editing, layout, revision, recruitment of authors and illustrators, image research, technical checks and finalisation of files for printing. In addition to editorial work, each title in the Le Mots Libres collections is promoted through events and workshops for children. Emergency has acted as a partner in promotional work and supported publication of the illustrated book My Name is Not Refugee. Le Mots Libres’ next challenge is to break into the global content market with the development of the IOLEGGO app: a tool to foster reading among non-mother-tongue, dystrophic, dyslexic, blind and vision-impaired users.
